It was a nice flat ride out to 8a - blue skies - except for one small dark cloud - which rained on us for 15 minutes on the way out - but it didn't matter much - as we were allready drenched in sweat from the oppresive heat and humidity . We slow trolled live pogeys along the flat 87o ocean ridge - with no success. We tried live baits on the bottom - only to be besieged by non stop 6 inch sea bass - so quit that too. Then we tried trolling ballyhoo - still eau gotz ! There wasn't many boats out there - didn't see anybody catching anything anywhere. At least this was a more comfortable ride than the ride out to Pelican flats on Sunday 7/31 - - that was a bumpy hull pounding ride - only to find so many scattered small clumps of sargossa weeds - which made trolling a real pain - constantly clearing weeds off the gear - with the same results - eau gotz !
