I've been too busy getting "trained" at work to post, don't know who thought I COULD be trained but I digress. I had the luxury of meeting some great guys who needed another body on the "Day Cayer". Ted, Chuck, Sam, & Gary werer all great guys and fun to fish with. We tried bottom dropping in 90ft first with just a few Sharks and short Sea Bass to show.

We then went out to 200ft and put the spread in. Nothing for awhile but did see a big free jumping Yellowin, about 70-75lbs by the look of it. Seemed odd, never heard of one being in that close but I guess fish can swim anywhere. Hit patches of weeds in 220ft and Gary was up and got a nice keeper Phin. We hadn't reeled in the other lines, originally hoping for mulitples, then since the fish was coming in straight and relatively easy we left the lines in. Good choice!!! The back corner line starts screaming and then the big boy gives us a nice aerial show. He jumped many times and Chuck worked him to perfection for Ted to lay the gaff to him. Would have gotten a good lit up pic but you know how it goes - about flipping out of boat, blood everywhere, tail whipped in legs & face....

Trolled longer with no takers for awhile and then we could see something was biting at one of the hoos and releasing it, grabbing again, release, grab and bam - fish on. Line is screaming! Sailfish. He ran & ran & ran some more trying to wear me out. Nice fight & put on one helluva airshow. Next time I am keeping camera out & on video mode. He even jumped 3ft from the boat numerous times.

Then into 130-140ft for bottom dropping. 4 keeper Sea Bass, numerous shorts, some endangered ARS, and then I got my first Warsaw (I believe??). I was stoked.

Fun day, great guys, good tasting fish = great weekend.
