Went out early Friday morning into the Lake Atlantic to try our luck at some Cobia. Two throws and blacked out the well with pogies and we headed out. I heard there were still a few loners wondering around and with the help of a bud we found em. Went from looking for about an hour to a group of six under the boat. My Buddy Phil and Chuck both hooked up and then I joined in for triple header Cobes! I got mine in, Phil landed his and poor Chuck was still upfront fighting his. It was a MONSTER! After about 20 minutes another fish came up to join chucks and see what was happening and it looked small compared to Chucks but it ate a pogie right away and I hooked up again. After 20 minutes or so we gaffed mine which was no dink and went up front to help Chuck. Took all 3 of us to gaff her and get her in the boat. Weighed at Sunrise later and she was 66lbs! Not bad for a 7' medium heavy rod and 30 lb braid! Biggest fish chuck ever caught and hopefully a great memory.
