Sunday - Headed out onto the IRL with my buddy Jeb in search of the elusive IRL redfish. :red So yea it was a tad windier then expected this morning but we knew it would lay up at some point for a while so he killed time checking out areas that were high and dry last week but now covered in 6" of water. Found quite a few singles roaming the shorelines and Jeb picked up a nice 23" red early in the am. The wind kept building and sight fishing was going completely out the window with the partly cloudy skies and building chop. Around 10 the wind started laying up and we headed back to an area that's been hot lately and found quite a few free swimmers. I hooked up to a nice 30" red bait of choice for the day was cut mullet.

Then a few minutes later I came across this nice 29" red.

The fishing was firing up and it probably had something to do with the storm brewing out to the west of us. We were keeping our eye on it but before we knew it, the monster had snuck up on us. Just as we decide to head my mullet head I had soaking in a nearby sand hole takes off running. Great just what I need a monster storm rolling in and a piggie who wants to play tug-o-war.

We knew we needed to get off the water asap, but I didn't want to loose my fish either so I laid the heat on him and had a interesting but short battle.

We managed to get off the water just before mother nature unleashed her fury.
Was a good time even if it did get a lil sketchy.
