I had to make a quick business trip to Portland last week, so I decided to hire a guide and try something new, King salmon fishing. It was the tail end of the spring run, so fishing was slow. I was very content to get 1, my first.

The technique is quite odd. Where we do everything to make our baits swim correctly and only smell like fish, they want the baits to spin and smell like everything except a fish (like WD40 !)

Brought home some nice fillets for the smoker
