Tied a couple #8 flies this week just for the little ones and got my first Tarpon this morning.
Gave me some nice jumps too.
Can only get better now.

Beautiful, you're "done for" now. A new tarpon addict. Congratulations!

Congrats. You'll always remember your first. Wonder if that could be considered an illegal possession pic?:huh:rotflmao:applause

I was trying get good picture in the water, but he was pretty frisky so I had to gently scoop him up for the shot and to remove the hook.

Thanks for the positives.

They are cute when they are that size.

:rotflmao I thought this was going to be your intro to explain that it was the picture making it look small.

Awesome tarpon! I'd love to catch one that size on fly! No kidding! Never caught one on fly before...

Yeah....that hand is 5 feet long and the fly weighs about 4 lbs. The tarpon is really 85-90 lbs.!!! Nice catch.

(I don't think I've ever seen one that small.)

Love the tarpon...great shot. Question: Is that a swivel between the leader and the fly?

Fast snap. Just started trying them out. Very small and light and pretty easy to switch flies.
