Tarpon are here

Went out in the kayak on Friday and Saturday and managed one tarpon on each outing, both in the 70-80lb range. The one on Friday ate a Bomber mullet while being trolled and leadered in about 20 minutes. Saturday's came on a spoon and took about an hour or more and dragged me about 2 miles out, I hooked up about 1/2 mile off the beach. I was whooped on the ride in! Conditions were a little sloppy (for a kayak) on Friday afternoon, but Saturday in clean conditions I was able to see a lot of tarpon rolling around, bonita and 916also had a school of large jacks cruise under while hooked up.

Nice job Kim I took my Kayak out sat/sun. hooked a nice king on sat and 80 pound tarpon on sun .Game On taking the yak out in the AM

Yeah Rob, we need to get together and hit it one day. I'm still waiting for the kings, haven't run into any yet in the yak this year.
