Tackle: Stradic 3000 CI4, 10lbs braid to 15floro, St. Croix Avid med.

Bait: Top water plug (you can see which plug in the pics)
Trout/red fishing the last few nights and have had excelled numbers landed and great size both in length and unbelievably fat. The three below are 25’ 27’ and the big one is right at 30’. The trout have been eating like cows just crushing top water plugs. The gator hit the plug THREE times before she got it. Sorry the last pic is way off center and has the top of my grill in the frame; it was like 1:20am and my fiancé was asleep and I was not about to miss taking a shot of that big trout. Ah the old zara in silver flash. Awesome plug and where are you fishing ( in general ) I am from Merritt Island, and fished all over the place down there.

I usually don't go father south than the power lines south of NASA Causeway. Are those fatties hitting farther south than that?

yes i am south of the power lines and i am fishing the east shoreline

yeah, a friend & I had good luck with trout to ~25" on top-water at sunset near Melbourne on teh West shoreline. We were getting them ~knee deep (better shallow than deeper) I think that rod you chose is near perfect for that..

Went fishing today but didn't go that far south. Did pretty well and brought home 4 trout for the grill, all between 17" and 19", so no complaints. I will be out again tomorrow so maybe I will try a bit farther south.
