35243525I'm making custom lobster "Snickle Sticks" for $20 and I can make custom gaff wraps. The wrap depends on length of handle desired. Please see video for Snickle Stick demonstration.

I like the gaff handle. I've got a Calstar 60-unlimited rod that has had x-rap put on the butt section where the old torn eva was removed. Can you do the same wrap as on the gaff handle, on an existing rod? If so would you do it right over the existing x-rap or would you have to remove it and start on the blank? Would you have to remove the aluminum gimble? How well will that cord hold up to rod holder wear? Is it epoxied on? Is it "tuna" cord or just "parachute" cord? Sorry for all the questions.

It's made with para-cord. I have to say that it really holds up well in saltwater and sunlight. Virtually no fading and no signs of it getting brittle. If you can, send me a picture of the grip. I shouldn't have to remove it, but it all depends. You don't want to to be too bulky or you might have a problem putting it in the rod holder. Thanks.

Thanks. It's nice to hear that someone else is still practicing decorative knot work.

i might have to call you when i need a cord grip done yours are so nice.. we put spar finsh on or grips so they dry solid and dont get fish guts stuck in it.. you should look in to it.. yours are great!!

check out the bloody decks rod building forum theres a bunch of california guys doing basket weaves on grips it will give you some examples if you get in to rods..

what kind of prices do you charge?? and where do you live or work?

Send me message I'll send you my number. I charge depending on the time and that depends on the length of the wraps. I live and work out of Miramar.

Sweet product. Looks incredibly easy to use and pretty effective. Cool video too. I hope those weren't really the numbers for that rock.

No, they weren't the numbers. If you put those numbers into to google earth it will show you the giant lobster in islamorada.

I picked up 2 and love the simplistic design but aluminum construction...never liked my other snare because you need 2 hands to open and close it and then you still need a separate tickle stick. This design has tickle stick on one end, snare on the other end and a cool 3" cord wrap on the stick for a quick measure. Look forward to trying them out this weekend.

Picked up one of the sticks this week and got to use it yesterday. I was very pleased at the feel and smoothness of the action. I know I will be getting another one next time in miramar. Save me a nice green one Capt. IDK the team colors might work out better , my wife would like a nice jags wrap.

Used mine to get a few yesterday. The loop is so easy to use with just a quick pull it cinches down tight.
